The work behind every round

Build the engine.
Learn the craft.

Conditioning is a foundation of boxing. Our kids’ classes place a strong emphasis on stamina and endurance alongside the skills and discipline of the sport.

Cardio & stamina

Come prepared for active training. Boxing exercises and conditioning build the endurance to keep working through a round.

Strong fundamentals

Learn stance, guard, footwork, punching technique, and defense. Good habits come before speed or power.

Purposeful repetition

Put the basics into practice through boxing drills and exercises. Listen to your coach, make adjustments, and keep improving.

Mind & body

Train your focus as well as your fitness. Consistency, self-control, and respect are part of the work every day.

Beginners welcome. Effort expected.

You don’t need to arrive as an athlete. Come willing to learn, follow instruction, respect the people around you, and work toward your next step.

Before you lace up

A few things to know.

What should kids expect from training?

Expect plenty of movement, cardio, and conditioning alongside boxing fundamentals. Kids work on stamina and endurance while learning to listen, stay focused, and show respect. Visit the gym with a parent or guardian to discuss the right class.

Do you work with schools and nonprofit youth programs?

Yes. Local nonprofits already connect young people with Knockouts. We welcome inquiries from schools, alternative education programs, and nonprofits looking for structured recreation and positive youth development. Use our Partnerships inquiry form to introduce your program.

Are there classes for teens and women?

Yes. Monday–Friday, Coach Javier leads teens boxing at 6 pm and Coach Jazmin leads women’s boxing from 8–9 pm. Jazmin also teaches kids from 5–6 pm, and Coach Carlos leads a 7 pm boxing class.

What is the best way to contact the gym?

Come visit us at 9201 California Ave in South Gate during the posted sign-up hours. We’re a small local gym focused on training kids and running boxing classes. We don’t have someone dedicated to answering the phone all day, and training can get loud. Calls may go unanswered while we’re coaching, so speaking with us in person is best.

Can I join if I’m new to boxing?

Yes. Knockouts welcomes people learning the sport as well as experienced athletes. Visit the gym to discuss the right session, or apply online and tell us your experience level.

What ages can join?

Boxing class rates are available from age 5. South Gate resident open-gym rates start at age 12. A parent or guardian should contact the gym about enrollment for anyone under 18; ask the team about non-resident open-gym age eligibility.

How do South Gate resident rates work?

Resident pricing requires a valid ID. Bring proof of residency when completing your enrollment. Do not send ID documents through the website form.

Does open gym include classes or sparring?

The published open-gym memberships cover bags and cardio only. Classes have separate membership rates. Sparring must be arranged with the gym, and your own coach or cutman must be present.

Can I train with Manny Robles or Matias Erbin?

Visit the gym to ask about professional coaching and strength and conditioning. Availability, arrangements, and pricing are confirmed with the team; these services are not automatically included in standard class memberships.

What happens after I apply online?

Your application goes to the gym team for review around coaching and classes. Replies may take time. For questions and next steps, visit during our posted sign-up hours. Submitting the form does not charge your card or activate a membership.
